Lithium Fire Guard™ - Adding In Cabin Safety onto Every Aircraft

While lithium-ion battery fires on a private jet are rare, being prepared can prevent more significant in-flight events from occurring.

With the growing use of lithium-ion batteries in cameras, smart and cell phones, laptop computers, and other personal electronic devices (PEDs), private jets have become more prone to dangerous cabin fire & toxic smoke events. Although rare, these batteries, when overheated or damaged, can ignite. Fumes & smoke emitted from these batteries are poisonous and can cause an aircraft to be diverted and make an unplanned landing.

How do you put out a lithium ion battery fire on a private jet?

To put out a lithium-ion battery fire, Skyservice offers the PG-100 from Lithium Fire Guard, an aluminum box designed to fully contain the toxic smoke/fumes while allowing the PED thermal runaway event to continue inside the box until complete. The PG-100 patented “Scoop it” technology allows the user to scoop the PED device without handling it directly. Also, a transparent polycarbonate shield protects the user as they locate the device for containment. Once the PED is safely contained in the PG-100, the crew can elect to continue the flight without the need to divert or make an emergency landing.
